About Shelby Kaump,
Founder & CEO of Growing Minds ABA Therapy
Hi, I’m Shelby Kaump, the founder and CEO of Growing Minds ABA Therapy. Since beginning my journey in ABA in 2013, I’ve been passionate about providing ethical, compassionate, and individualized care to every child and family I work with. Growing Minds ABA Therapy was born out of my desire to put the ethics and heart back into ABA therapy—where each child is celebrated for who they are, and therapy is focused on empowerment, not conformity.
After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University, I fell in love with the science of ABA while working as a direct therapist. I later earned my Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis from Capella University and became a BCBA, continuing my mission of providing high-quality care across every context. My journey took me through diverse settings—center-based, school-based, in-home, and virtual environments—which helped me understand the importance of adaptable, family-centered care.
What sets me apart is my commitment to ethical, neurodivergent-affirming care and a team-first philosophy. I believe therapy should be a partnership between families, children, and therapists, and I’m dedicated to creating an environment where compassion and understanding lead the way. Every family who chooses Growing Minds can expect not only clinical excellence but also genuine care and support at every step of their journey. It’s not just your child that will grow-I aim to help every individual on the team grow through their role.
At Growing Minds ABA Therapy, our mission is clear: To help children thrive in all areas of life, all while ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported just as they are.
If you’d like to learn more or are ready to begin your family’s ABA journey, I’d love to connect with you!
